DESCRIPTION: EPW - Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand, London, keyless lever fusee with winding indicator, 54mm, very heavy 18K gold original HC bearing London hallmarks for 1877, "G . A . P" within oval cameo for casemaker George Augustus Potter, initials to front, heraldic crest to rear, gold cuvette engraved with name, white enamel SS dial, SW-lever-set with setting engaged by depressing lever and disengaged by closing case front, fully capped lever escapement, diamond endstone, 19-21J, gilt mvt, s#05231 with matching serial number within case and to dial. Gross weight of assembled watch 99.1 dwt (154.2 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, wound briefly without building tension before coming to a firm stop, winding indicator advanced as watch wound, balance swings freely, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, mild ultra-fine scratch striations likely from a past wiping; dial with two light blue hls extending through its upper-right portion, small bit of glue excess evident at seating of seconds-register indicating it has been re-secured; excellent hands; case shows light wear, mild shallow dent to right perimeter of front, reduced engraving detail; bow pivots freely, crown shows medium to ample wear; good glass crystal.
